For unto us a child is born...what's so special about this baby? Aren't babies born everyday all over the world, why is this baby so important?
Isaiah 9:6 (King James Version)
6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 1:14 (King James Version)
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Matthew 1:23 (King James Version)
23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
God wrapped in human flesh came down to earth as a small baby... a cute little innocent baby; the same way we all began. Someday this little baby would save His people from their sins. I know it's not Easter yet, but this birth is so significant because Jesus literally took the beating for all of our sins...a sinless man...took our place on the cross. How amazing is that love?
Isaiah 53:5 (King James Version)
5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
So this Christmas, and every Christmas, we celebrate the birth of our savior. As we give and receive gifts we remember the ultimate gift of Jesus Christ.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
